It feels more like August today, the air is cool and crisp. Not that I’m complaining as the humidity has been hard to deal with for our kitchen crew. Katrina, Danielle, Ekaterina, Anusha and Jeff have been been braving the unbearable heat last week creating all the yummy offering we had at our farmers markets. While I on the other hand have been braving the thunder and rain selling our wears outdoors. Saturday was the worst. Heavy rains for most of the market. Saying that it did not stop the awesome farmers whom I sell beside from picking their available crops to sell to us. I bought some delicious rainbow chard which we have sauteed with onions and garlic and the likes to make some delicious quiche. Why not drop by Ancaster farmers market today, Dundas tomorrow yes we are open on Canada Day at the market, or Oakville on Saturday to sample our quiche.
I must say I am having a blast at the markets. The farmers have such unique offerings. Some that I have never seen or tasted before. As a chef I am really getting an education of new product which in turn is getting my creative juices flowing big time.
Have a Great day, and Happy Canada Day
As always happy eating!!!!!
