- 0.250 liter hot water
- 908 grams dates pitted
- 115 grams organic sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 0.125 liter fresh squeezed organic orange juice + zest from 1 orange 2 large oranges
- 0.02 liter lemon juice
- 0.01 liter pure vanilla extract

- 454 grams melted organic butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
Directions
Put all filling ingredients in a pot and simmer until all liquid is absorbed and dates are completely soft. Cool the filling mixture.
Preheat oven 350F – 185C
- In a bowl mix all dry ingredients well. Add melted butter to dry and mix well
- Pat 1/2 the mixture into a parchment lined 12x 18 pan
- Spread filling evenly over crumbs.
- Top filling with remaining crumbs, lightly pat.
- Bake for 30 minutes
